It is true that many people have a prejudice against “classic” team building sessions with trust exercises and psychological tests. But thankfully, escape quests are different than that. The basic escape room team building kit doesn’t include any obvious psychological theories, practices or manipulations. The only thing you need is to make a pact with a studio that provides services to corporative clients. Your employees will participate in an escape quest of your choosing, just like regular guests. They will play the game, have fun and find the exit (or maybe they won’t). And once they’re done, you’ll have an opportunity to discuss their strategy and actions in a comfortable lounge place, with snacks and beverages.

If you are not willing to involve a third party, you can find general escape room kits for team building online and try to recreate the experience at your workplace. But that might not be the best option out there, and that’s why:

  • To set up an escape room is more expensive than to rent it. You’ll have to buy plenty of equipment, and the tech still won’t be as much impressive as in a professional escape room.
  • People will restrain from intuitive actions. It is hard to relax if you stay in the workplace for the whole time.
  • You’ll have to spend time on planning puzzles and games instead of building a team.
